07/26/2006 : St. Louis, MO Headquartered Kaplan Real Estate Opens Arizona Commercial Real Estate Brokerage and Development Office.

Bullhead City, AZ – Kaplan Real Estate Co., Inc. of St. Louis, MO has opened an office here under the name of Kaplan Commercial Real Estate & Development. The Bullhead City office will be headed up by John Keith, a local Mohave County resident with 15 years of real estate experience specializing in commercial real estate brokerage representing commercial property owners as well as companies searching to find commercial real estate to purchase and or lease. According to John Keith, Kaplan is the only company in the area solely specializing in commercial real estate. The Kaplan organization chose Bullhead City and Mohave County, Arizona as the location for its Arizona office because of the phenomenal growth taking place in the county and surrounding areas according to David A. Wright, President of Kaplan Real Estate Co. “Mohave County has been the fastest growing county in the state of Arizona in terms of percentage growth in population”, according to Wright. In addition to opening the brokerage and development office, the Kaplan organization has also recently acquired multiple commercial parcels of land for development purposes in the Bullhead City area as well as in Kingman, Arizona. These parcels are being developed with retail shopping centers, free standing retail and restaurants as well as multi tenant office warehouse retail showroom type of developments.

According to John Keith, the Mohave County market consists of the high growth cities of Kingman, AZ, Lake Havasu City, AZ as well as Bullhead City. Additional and surrounding areas include Laughlin, NV; Needles, CA. Mohave County in particular and these surrounding markets are approximately 100 to 150 miles from fast growing Las Vegas, and are in relative close proximity to the high growth Phoenix market as well as the high growth southern California markets known as the “Inland Empire” such as Riverside County and San Bernadino County. Mohave County has greatly benefited and grown because of being relatively close to these high growth markets as well as because of the relative low cost of housing and living in Mohave County compared to these other high growth markets. The area also is a large tourist, “snowbird” and weekend attraction and recreation destination in that it is located on the Colorado River in the area of Lake Havasu as well as Lake Mohave. Additionally, Laughlin, NV, located across the Colorado River from Bullhead City, AZ is a “mini-Las Vegas” and has 9 large casinos lined up along the river and attracts approximately 7 million visitors to the area each year.

“Mohave County is underserved in terms of retail and restaurant offerings for the existing and rapidly growing population base, and our desire and intent is to bring more and better offerings and choices of retailers and restaurants to the area” says John Keith.
