Eastern Carolina's Management has closed the Durham, North Carolina location of Scott Harrelson of Kotis Restaurant Group (CIRB Carolinas) is handling the divestiture of the real estate. Eastern Carolina's Management had been planning to divest of this location as part of an overall plan to move from the "Clubhouse" prototype to the new Damon's prototype. The new facilities will be much smaller, approximately 7,000 sf compared to over 10,000 sf for the Clubhouse concept. The company has decided to concentrate on its image as a restaurant and not remain known as a "sports event special occasion" concept. The location in Durham has had some problems due to the closure of South Square Mall.

This area is still heavily populated with residents and a very large office population. The facility is 10,200 sf and sits on 1.77 acres of property. For the right restaurant operator there is a great opportunity to buy or lease this facility fully equipped and be operating by simply changing the signage. The real estate was last appraised in 1998 for $2.2 million and is currently being offered for $1,750,000.
