News 03/25/2002 : The World Master of Culinary Arts  The first World Master of Culinary Arts Awards took place in NYC, March 25. The ceremony and celebration dinner was held at the Regent Wall Street Hotel and featured America's top celebrity chefs vying for the World Culinary Award for the US. The award winning chef, Thomas Keller, The French Laundry, will travel to Paris, where he will compete with the leading chefs from other countries around the world, culminating in the Grand Final on May 16th at the Intercontinental Paris. A Founder of CIRB and Chairman, Richard L. Lackey, The Lackey Companies, Palm Beach, Florida attended the NYC ceremonies on behalf of CIRB and as a special guest of Roy Ackerman, OBE, London, the Grand Jury Chairman and, together with Wedgewood, one of the organizers of the World Master Of Culinary Arts international program.
